That is How MUCH!!!

Well today, I ventured out to buy some college supplies. I never knew how many things you have to have to live in a dorm room. I mean seriously they are not that big. I am very lucky (well I thought) because at the great Liberty University you can live in a very nice suite. What they do not tell you is that when you live in a suite you must buy the following: silverware, pots, pans, pizza pans, cups, plates, bowls, and ect. These items are expensive. I am pretty sure I am spent over $300 on just supplies for my room!

So here are some dorm room musts that you just do not think of:

Bath robes or cover-ups are a must if their is a bathroom in your room or not. Also the "bedside buddy" is a great way to store items right next to your bed.

Well I do not want to post every neat little item I thought was just a must have for all college students so I will tell you where to find them.

I did most of my shopping at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I had never been there but they have this helpful checklist for all college students.

A few other items were purchased at the wonderful Target.

Learning how to Drive a Stick (in a car, for you dirty minds)

As a new college student one supply I desperately needed was a new car. The car I learned to drive in and have driven since getting my license had around 165,000 miles on it. My little black Honda was a faithful scratched up automobile that needed a paint job but I adored it.

Anyway while visiting my sister in Lynchburg this past weekend my dad and brother-in-law drove down to Danville to look at a car. I was pumped about getting a new car and completely over-looked the fact that it was a stick-shift. I arrived at my sisters house after a day of shopping for school supplies to find a 06 Nissan Sentra sitting in the drive. While it wasn't brand new to me it was beautiful.

Okay, now to the learning how to drive it part. I am sure for all drivers in Lee Co. it is a hoot to watch me try to pull out and hop all the way to my destination. Anyone that has ridden with me the past two days has learned to hang on to something so they do not bang their head on something! Sorry guys I am getting better! I have learned to drive on back roads so I can keep the stopping to a minimum and so that when I kill it I do not have to worry about the person behind cussing me because they are in a rush.

(this is the only picture I could find of road rage without someone flipping the bird)

So for anyone who may read this and live around the big Lee Co. please be patient with me as I learn.

Oh yeah, let me share the most annoying part of the learning process, people who drive slow in front of you forcing you to down shift. I want to lean out the window and demand they speed up so that I don't have to down shift. I mean really is that too much to ask?

First Blog (I know, Cliche)

So basically this is my first blog so I will try to make this at least a little entertaining. My dear friend Leigh Anne the world famous blogger will be helping me through the learning process.
I will be blogging as often as I can from Liberty University. College life from a freshman's eyes. The nervousness is just now setting in but I am so ready! I have read all the brochures and watched all the movies so hopefully I will not be in for too many surprises.

The new Liberty Monogrammed Mountain, apparently it is a big deal!

So here it is my first post, boring as it may be. For anyone that may read this it will get better I promise. Get ready for the life of a college student.
